#129 – Anders Lendager, Lendager: Form follows availability – The most creative architectural approach
Shownotes
Lendager has been working on the circular economy in architecture and the cradle-to-cradle principle since its foundation in 2011. What they ever since do, with a team of 60 employees, is: They transform „waste“ or old building materials into new buildings. For example: Cutting old brick walls into pieces and use them as elements for a new façade, as they did in the Project „Resource Rows", or using old staircase flights as new façade elements as they did at the Karstadt Project in Berlin. Or you can find reused concrete parts in projects like „Upcycle Studios“. In a nutshell, Lendager makes architecture out of everything they find. The results are fascinating and award-winning architecture projects. In this episodes Anders talks about the new approach for designing houses and how it works to transform seemingly rubbish material into beautiful and vibrant architecture.
